Volunteer accommodation & shifts
Where do volunteers stay?
Volunteers stay in our exclusive volunteer campsite, a dedicated area separate from the general campsite. Your camping is included as part of the volunteer offer and you don’t need to purchase a camping ticket. You will need to bring all your own camping equipment.
If you’d like to bring a caravan or motorhome, please email volunteers@bigchurchfestival.com by the end of June 2026 with your vehicle details and whether you’ll need an electrical hook-up. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and can only be confirmed once your application has been accepted.
Glamping and Rent-A-Tent are available to book at your own cost at bigchurchfestival.com. Please note that these are not discounted or free for volunteers.
Up to three immediate family members can join you in the volunteer campsite, as long as they have a valid festival ticket.
What shifts will I do?
Shift patterns vary by team and role. Your Team Leader will work with you to ensure shifts are spread fairly across the event. As a volunteer, you’ll get one full event day off, plus scheduled lunch and dinner breaks around your shifts. If you have specific needs around breaks, just let us know at volunteers@bigchurchfestival.com.
What’s the cancellation policy?
To keep the festival running smoothly, we hold card details for volunteers. You’ll only be charged if you cancel without a valid reason, don’t show up or don’t complete your shifts. Here’s the breakdown:
- Up to midnight on 20 July 2026: no charge
- 20 July to 3 August 2026: £45, which is 25%
- 4 August to 21 August 2026: £90, which is 50%
- After 21 August, or if you don’t complete your shifts: £180, which is 100%
To cancel, log in to your volunteer profile at bigchurchfestival.paamapplication.co.uk/bigchurchfestival. Email cancellations are not accepted. If a genuine emergency arises, please contact us and we’ll always take real circumstances into account.
